Certificate IV in Digital Media (NRT)

This is the foundation year of a three year course. You will study: Digital video production and editing; script development; camera operation and lighting; 2D animation and 3D modelling; Photography; drawing and storyboard creation. Software covered in the course ncludes: Cinema 4D, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Flash.

All courses are intensive, and classes run for five hours per day over a four day week, with self-directed study in the Centre for up to five hours per week.

Pre-requisites – Year 12 or mature age entry. Full-time day course, 4 days per week for 1 year.

The second year of study. In this year there is a greater emphasis on project production and professional skills. Students work in the following areas: Digital film-making; script development; camera operation; lighting; 2D animation; 3D animation; Photography; DVD design and production.

IMPORTANT: All Applicants are required to:
    • use the NSW TAFE Application form
    • submit a CD or DVD portfolio.
Applicants who are successful in stage 1 will be required to:
    • prepare a portfolio as per the instructions available from the CDMD (This will normally consist of of between 4 and 10 examples of original creative work)
    • attend a selection interview at the CDMD
    • Successfully complete a computer literacy test at the CDMD
