This is the foundation year, which progresses to the Graphic Design and Communication Diploma in the second year.
This course teaches you the knowledge and practical skills required to work as an assistant graphic designer in a professional practice. The course is intensive, and classes run for five hours per day over a four day week, with self-directed study in the Centre for up to five hours per week.

The Diploma is the second year of study, following the successful completion of the Graphic Design Foundation Certificate 4.
This course teaches you the knowledge and skills needed to develop and communicate creative graphic design solutions across the area of print and digital design.
This course helps to develop the theoretical, practical and technical skills necessary to work as a graphic designer.
You will learn how to solve problems creatively, be imaginative, think laterally and extend and transform problems by designing innovative solutions, and produce creative, contemporary graphic designs.
You will also learn business planning, management skills in the development of a design project, how to allocate work and provide support and feedback, how to manage your own professional development, time management skills and performance in the workplace.

MPORTANT: All Applicants are required to:

• use the NSW TAFE Application form
• submit a CD or DVD portfolio.

•Prepare a portfolio as per the instructions available from the CDMD (This will normally consist of of between 4 and 10 examples of original creative work)
• You may be required to attend a selection interview at the CDMD
• You may be required to successfully complete a computer literacy test at the CDMD
